title

Approve Joint Project Agreement (JPA) between Polk County and the City of Eagle Lake (City) for the Northwest Wahneta Drainage Improvement Project (Project).

body

DESCRIPTION

The Roads & Drainage Division is in the process of implementing drainage improvements within the Northwest Wahneta area of unincorporated Polk County.  Construction of the Project is expected to begin later this summer and is being funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.

The limits of the Project happen to be located within the Green Acres Water Service Area of the City of Eagle Lake.  During the design phase of the Project, it was determined that there were several unavoidable conflicts with the City’s water lines in the County right-of-way.

The City and County have agreed to a JPA to include the relocation of the City water lines within the County’s construction contract for the Project.  The City has agreed to reimburse the County for 100% of the costs associated with the relocation and improvements to the water lines as noted on Exhibit “A” of the JPA.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board authorize the Chairman to execute the JPA with the City for the Northwest Wahneta Drainage Improvement Project.

FISCAL IMPACT

No fiscal impact.
