DESCRIPTION
The County through the Parks and Natural Resources Division (PNR) was awarded an innovative technology grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to assist with the implementation of water treatments within both the Lake Deeson & Bear Branch stream locations. Evaluation results will identify water quality improvement strategy to be implemented at each location. These services may include design and permitting of improvements, surveying and mapping, chemical application analysis, environmental investigation analysis, and cost estimates.
Lake Deeson is a 55-acre lake located north of downtown Lakeland and Bear Branch stream, a stormwater conveyance system, is located within the City of Bartow.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 23-573, Professional Engineering Services for Lake Deeson & Bear Branch was issued, and only one firm submitted a proposal, SePro Corporation. The selection committee met on Monday, November 6, 2023, to evaluate and score the proposal. After scoring, the consensus of the selection committee was to request the Board authorize staff enter into contract negotiations with SePro Corporation for both projects individually. Two separate agreements will be brought back to the Board for approval.
A recommendation of award was posted, and no protests were received.
Funding for these services is provided by the FDEP Innovative Technology grant.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the selection committee's recommendation and authorize staff to enter into contract negotiations, with SePro Corporation of Camden, IN, for RFP 23-573, Professional Engineering Services for Lake Deeson and Bear Branch projects.
FISCAL IMPACT
