SUBJECT

title

Approval of Second (2nd) Amendment to Polk Regional Water Cooperative (PRWC) Combined Projects Implementation Agreement. (No fiscal impact)

body

DESCRIPTION

The PRWC Combined Projects Implementation Agreement dated May 1, 2017 was approved for the implementation of the Combined projects, which originally consisted of the West Polk County Lower Floridan Aquifer Wellfield, Southeast Wellfield, and Peace Creek Integrated Water Supply projects.  The First (1st) Amendment to the PRWC Combined Projects Implementation Agreement dated November 21, 2019 added the Peace River/Land Use Transition Treatment Facility project.  This proposed Second (2nd) Amendment to the PRWC Combined Projects Implementation Agreement will add the Alafia River Project.  The Alafia River Project is currently considered a “candidate project”, and this approval will elevate the project to “Approved” project status formally positioned for future implementation.  A separate Implementation Agreement specific to the Alafia River Project will be executed in the future by the PRWC and its members for execution of specific design and construction phases.

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve the Second (2nd) Amendment to Polk Regional Water Cooperative (PRWC) Combined Projects Implementation Agreement elevating the Alafia River Project from “Candidate” to “Approved” projected status.

FISCAL IMPACT

No fiscal impact.
