DESCRIPTION
Information Technology, along with the Utilities Division, are requesting approval for a project with Randstad Digital to modernize how the County manages and shares information across departments. The first step in this effort is to create a space for modern tools-like dashboards and custom apps-into Microsoft's cloud environment called Azure. Using Microsoft Azure will provide the County with a supported and secure foundation for future technological needs. While the initial focus is to build the base structure and dashboards for a single division, the goal is to create a setup that can grow and support data needs countywide.
The Utilities division is leading the way by being the first to leverage Azure. As part of the project, they will build a central place to store and organize their data so they can create useful reports and visual tools. These will help them manage and monitor important systems like customer service (CIS Infinity), asset tracking and maintenance (Lucity), and mapping tools (GIS viewers). This means faster access to information, better decision-making, and improved services for the community.
Eventually, other divisions across the County will be able to use this same cloud setup when they are ready. By building a shared system from the start, the County will avoid duplicating work and make it easier to create reports and tools that span multiple divisions. This project is not just about upgrading our technology, it's about setting the stage for smarter, more connected County operations in the years ahead.
