DESCRIPTION
The State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management, hereinafter referred to as the “Division”, and Polk County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to as the “Recipient” have entered into an agreement wherein the Recipient is funded in part by the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) Trust fund which is annually allocated to local jurisdictions by the Division. The EMPA base grant contract will provide for reimbursement of expenditures up to $105,806. These funds will be used for operating expenses for the Emergency Management program including the Emergency Operations Center, Special Needs, Disaster Planning Initiatives, and Training & Readiness exercises. The term of this agreement is July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.
As a condition precedent to receive funds from the EMPA Trust Fund, recipients must certify compliance with all the requirements contained in Chapter 27P-19, Florida Administrative Code and Section 252, Florida Statutes.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) Subgrant Agreement and EM Director Certification of Compliance with all the requirements contained in Chapter 27P-19, Florida Administrative Code and Section 252, Florida Statutes.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the Special Revenue EMPA Grant Fund.
