On January 1, 2025, the Board approved Amendment No. 1 with RDK to lease three roll off trucks for 18 months for staff to run the County’s transfer station located at the North Central Landfill (NCLF), 3131 K-Ville Road, Auburndale, FL 33823. The transfer station is available for use by Polk County residents to dispose of household waste.
On April 21, 2026, the Board approved Amendment No. 2 with RDK to lease one additional roll off truck for 18 months to transport residential waste from the Northeast Landfill (NELF) Citizens Convenience Center to the NCLF.
Solid Waste is changing the operations of the transfer station located at the NCLF to a Citizens Convenience Center. As a result, they are requesting an extension of two of the roll off trucks leased in January 2025, through December 31, 2032, for staff to continue to operate the Citizens Convenience Center.
