DESCRIPTION
This is a County-initiated request LDC Text Amendment to amend Chapters 2, 4, and 5 to add Professional Office and Contractor Office to the Use Tables; Chapter 2, Section 221, Principal Uses and Buildings, to add standards for office buildings; Chapters 3 and 4 to add conditional use criteria for Professional Office and Contractor Office uses; Chapter 7, Section 708, to amend parking standards for office uses; Chapter 10 to add definitions; providing for severability; and providing for an effective date. On October 7, 2026, the Planning Commission will vote (7:0) to recommend approval of the amendment.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board set hearing for the first reading on November 3, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. and the second reading on December 1, 2026, at 9:15 a.m.
