DESCRIPTION
This request is to accept a one-year warranty and surety in the amount of $113,818.70 in the form of Maintenance Bond No. CMS0354839, which represents 10% of the cost of the publicly dedicated infrastructure for Hawthorne Phase 1 Paving. The extended warranty period will permit the County to review results of possible substandard construction material used for this project. The paving material were found to be in question upon inspection, and normal testing was insufficient to assure structural integrity of the paving materials. Since it was found to be impractical to remove and replace them, Polk County will monitor the resilience and performance of the material during this extended warranty period. This one-year warranty period begins with the Board’s acceptance on November 21, 2023 and ends on November 21, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board accept a one-year warranty expiring on November 21, 2024 and a Maintenance Bond in the amount of $113,818.70 for Hawthorne Phase 1 Paving.
