DESCRIPTION
Polk County Roads and Drainage is requesting the CONSULTANT prepare Contract Documents for construction of the project. Services shall include Roadway and Drainage Plans, Utility Adjustment Plans, Environmental Permits, Signing and Pavement Marking Plans, Signalization Plans, Structural Plans, Construction Quantity and Cost Estimates, Specifications, and assistance with Right-of-Way Acquisition and Bidding Phase Services. The purpose of this project is to develop Construction Plans consistent with the recommendations provided in the CR 542A/Galloway Road at Swindell Road Final Alignment Study completed in September 2025. The recommended Alternative, Option 5, was presented at a February 2024 public meeting and subsequently presented to the Board in May 2024. This option will require right-of-way acquisitions but keeps all construction activities within the Galloway Road corridor and provides for new signals at the two intersections with Swindell Road. The Total Cost for providing these services shall not exceed $495,095.89.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Polk County Board of County Commissioners approve this agreement with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available in Impact Fee Zone B Fund within the Roads and Drainage 5 year CIP.
