DESCRIPTION

The Department of Energy (DOE) enters this Award, to achieve the project objectives and technical milestones and deliverables stated in Attachment 1 which is the NEPA Determination to this Award. Department of Energy (DOE) is requesting Board ratification of these grant applications and signature by the Chairman as the County’s authorized agent.

This EECBG Program is designed to assist these Recipients in developing strategies to reduce energy use, to reduce fossil fuel emissions, and to improve energy efficiency. Activities funded by the Technical Assistance Vouchers would include desktop activities, including but not limited to planning, designing, data collection, project management, training, outreach, reporting, and analyzing development of energy planning, energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and sustainable transportation type projects.

This grant award will allow Polk County to hire a consultant to establish an energy efficiency master plan inclusive of all BoCC facilities.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request the Board approve and sign the Department of Energy (DOE) voucher applications for State Community Energy Programs (SCEP) under Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Programs (EECBG).
