DESCRIPTION

Polk County has received and processed an application for a qualified expansion of an existing business, referred to herein as Project Citrus, requesting an economic development ad valorem tax exemption, pursuant to Ordinance 2022-069.  Before such an exemption may be granted, the Board must adopt an exemption ordinance, and the applicant/business is required to enter into a performance agreement with the County.  A public hearing is required to consider adoption of the exemption ordinance, at which time the Board will also be asked to approve and execute the performance agreement.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Set a public hearing on December 17, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. for purposes of considering adoption of an ordinance granting an economic development ad valorem tax exemption to an expanding business and approving a performance agreement with the company.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

No fiscal impact will be realized by setting the hearing.
