Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) FY 2026/27 - 2030/31 Draft Work Programs for Polk County

Ryan Kordek, Polk TPO Staff. FDOT and FTE staff will also be available to answer any questions by the Board.
SUMMARY:
TPO, FDOT and FTE staff will present the new Draft Work Programs for Polk County. Staff will request the committee to review and comment on the Draft Work Programs based on the TPO's Adopted 2025 Priority Transportation Projects which consist of candidate road, congestion management, complete street, transportation alternative, and multi-use trail projects.
Draft Work Program Highlights:
* Central Polk Parkway East Projects - The Turnpike's new Draft Work Program includes seven (7) separate projects between State Road 60 and State Road 538 (Poinciana Parkway) in eastern Polk County that contain funding for PD&E and Design phases. There are two (2) projects between US 27 and CR 546 that contain $40M in funding for right-of-way acquisition.
* Resurfacing and Pavement Reconstruction Projects - There are 30 resurfacing and pavement reconstruction Projects on the state highway system throughout Polk County totaling approximately $269M.
* State Road 570 (Polk Parkway) Widening (FPN: 446619-1) - FDOT's Draft Work Program has added a project development and environmental (PD&E) phase for a portion of the Polk Parkway between Interstate 4 and State Road 540 in FY 2028.
* State Road 60 for County Road 630 to Grape Hammock Road Widening- Environmental and Right of Way (ROW) funding for the widening of the easterly portion of State Road 60 within Polk County in the amount of $16.2M is funded in FY 2030.
