Authorize an Easement to Duke Energy in conjunction with the Watkins Road Fire Station. (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
Polk County has a project to construct a new fire rescue station along Watkins Road, near its intersection with Hatchineha Road (CR 542), to replace and consolidate two existing stations in the area. The project is nearing completion and Duke Energy, LLC. (hereinafter “Duke”), as the authorized provider of electric utility services, agreed to provide electric service to the station but has requested an easement over its installed facilities prior to energizing the lines. The installation of the electric facilities has been completed and a legal description for an easement measuring 10-feet wide (5 feet each side of the installed facilities) was prepared and submitted to Duke. Duke has agreed to the easement area and has prepared and submitted an Easement document for review and approval. Approving and authorizing the Easement will give Duke the easement needed to operate and maintain its facilities and thereby allow it to energize the electric line for the project.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board authorize the aforementioned Easement to Duke Energy.
