DESCRIPTION
Approve Amendment 1 to the CDBG subrecipient agreement between Polk County and the City of Auburndale for the continuation of the Cleveland Street Parking Lot Project/Earl Wright Park Improvements project. CDBG funds will be used to complete the design and construction of the Cleveland Street parking lot. The newly constructed parking lot will provide additional parking to address severe overflow from the Community Center/Gym. CDBG funds will cover all eligible construction costs incurred. Any remaining CDBG funds will be used for eligible improvements at Earl Wright Park, including ADA-accessible parking, lighting improvements, a new playground, and resurfacing of the playground area by transitioning from rubber mulch to a more durable, in-place rubber surfacing.
The City of Auburndale will use CDBG funds for the above activities in the amount not to exceed $179,152.54 (current allocation FY 25/26 $110,195.46, in addition to a carryover from FY 24/25 $68,957.08). This project was approved by the Board of County Commissioners by adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve and execute this Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Amendment 1 to the subrecipient agreement between Polk County and the City of Auburndale.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in Special Revenue Grant Fund.
