DESCRIPTION

Nemours Children’s Hospital, has submitted an application for a new COPCN to operate in Polk County. Per Polk County 12-029, the type of service requested by the applicant is Type G, which is specifically used for Advanced Life Support (ALS) medically necessary inter-facility transport ambulance service.

The level of service requested does not allow 911 pre-hospital responses unless requested by Polk County. Per the COPCN Ordinance, a public notice of this application was published on February 14,2024. In addition, a notice was sent to all service providers at the same level of service and municipalities within Polk County. This notice allowed a 30-day period to receive written objections of the application. No objections were received.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request the Board to approve the application of the COPCN for Nemours Children’s Hospital.
