Authorize an Easement to the City of Lakeland in conjunction with water service to the Eaton Park Fire Station. (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
Polk County has a project to construct a new fire rescue station along Winter Lake Road at the southeast corner of its intersection with Reynolds Road to replace an existing EMS station located to the west. The project is nearing completion and the City of Lakeland (hereinafter “City”), as the provider of water utility services, agreed to provide water service to the station but has requested an easement over its installed facilities up to and including the valve, meter and backflow preventer assemblies for water, irrigation and fire line services. The installation of said water facilities has been completed and a legal description for an easement measuring 21-feet by 38-feet wide, containing approximately 800 square feet, was prepared and submitted to the City. The City has agreed to the easement area and has prepared and submitted an Easement document for review and approval. Approving and authorizing the Easement will give the City the easement needed to operate and maintain its facilities and thereby allow it provide water services to the Fire Station.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board authorize the aforementioned Easement to the City of Lakeland.
