DESCRIPTION
The Roads and Drainage Division has submitted a Hazard Mitigation Grant to the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) for the flooding that occurred on Lake Bonny as result of Hurricane Milton. The Division has been actively responding to follow-up questions from the FDEM.
To complete the application, FDEM is requesting the Board act as the Authorized Agent on the Application. This will require the Chairperson to sign the FDEM Point of Contact Form as the Authorized Agent.
The Chairperson is also being requested to execute the following forms: Form 424D that lists specific assurances for construction activities in the event the submitted application is approved, the Project Maintenance Agreement Form that requires the County to provide for the routine maintenance of any facilities or improvements constructed with federal funding, and the Sub-Recipient Management Cost (SRMC) Request Form that indicates the County has declined to seek reimbursement for administrative expenses related to management of the grant (if awarded).
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board of County Commissioners acts as the Authorized Agent for the Lake Bonny Hazard Mitigation Grant Application and executes Form 424D, Project Maintenance Agreement Form, Point of Contact Form, and the SRMC Request Form.
