Approve an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Auburndale for Equipment Donation at the Championship Ski Lake (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
Since 2008, Polk County and the City of Auburndale have partnered together to develop a world-class sports facility at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park. One of the newest partnership additions was the construction of a championship ski lake, which provides the Tourism and Sports Marketing division with another venue to attract large-scale sports events. The equipment being donated provides the necessary amenities for water skiing events. The piece of equipment being donated (slalom course) allows us to facilitate events where such a course is required. Water ski slalom courses are made up of buoys that skiers navigate while being towed by a boat. The goal is to accumulate as many buoys as possible while passing through gates at the beginning and end of the course. Recently, the course was utilized to host the Florida Water Ski State Championships. This piece of equipment was originally purchased for $23,325.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Auburndale.
