DESCRIPTION

This is an applicant-initiated request for a LDC text amendment to amend Chapter 4, Section 401.08, Table 401.08.01, Use Table for Southeast Polk Selected Area Plan, to add Retail, Home Sales Offsite as a permitted use in the Industrial-X (INDX) land use district. On August 6, 2025, the Planning Commission recommend approval with a 7-0 vote. 

Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.

 

RECOMMENDATION

No action required on first reading.
