DESCRIPTION
Purpose -To make recommendations about the marketing of Polk County as a destination and the allocation of Tourism tax dollars to the BoCC.
Creating Authority - Ordinance 86-27, enacted September 30, 1986.
Appointments - Nine members appointed by the BoCC all of whom must reside in Polk County. Chairperson to be a member of the BoCC, two elected municipal officials, three owner/operators of motels, hotels or other tourist accommodations located in Polk County. Three people involved in the tourism industry who are not owner/operators of motels, hotels, or other tourist accommodations.
Term Limits - Four years (limited to three consecutive terms)
Reason for appointment - Replace Dexter Pagara’s term with KellyAnn Beach to fulfill the remainder of the term which ends on August 31, 2027.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the appointment of KellyAnn Beach to the Tourist Development Council to serve the remainder of Dexter Pagara’s four-year term which ends August 31, 2027.
