DESCRIPTION
The Roads and Drainage Division wishes to utilize a piggyback agreement from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) with TransCore ITS, LLC for intelligent transportation systems maintenance services. This service provides installation and maintenance of underground fiber optic cables which connect at intersections of County and State roads. This allows for communication between the County and State if a problem arises at an intersection.
There are no Polk County entities that can provide the services. The Roads and Drainage Division requested assistance from Procurement to piggyback a FDOT agreement for intelligent transportation systems maintenance services with TransCore ITS, LLC as a result of RFP-DOT-18-19-1104DR.
This new agreement with TransCore ITS, LLC will allow the Roads and Drainage Division to purchase FDOT approved installation and maintenance and services.
The term of the agreement is through August 31, 2026.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve a piggyback agreement with TransCore ITS, LLC for intelligent transportation systems maintenance services for the Roads and Drainage Division.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available within the Transportation Millage operating fund.
