DESCRIPTION
On March 7, 2023, the Board entered into agreement 2023-008 with Rodda Construction, Inc. to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services to convert twelve Simmers Young Park soccer fields from natural grass to artificial turf as well as other improvements. The original agreement provided for the services to be performed in two phases to allow for the timing of funding.
Phase I pre-construction services in the amount of $37,675.00 were included in the original agreement which included design, permitting and bidding services for turf conversion of five fields along with the installation of two pre-cast concrete concession/restroom buildings, and lighting of three fields. To expedite the timing of the project, Parks and Natural Resources installed the athletic field lighting through an existing agreement with Musco Sports Lighting and has ordered the pre-cast concession and restroom buildings through an existing bid.
Phase 1, pre-construction services are now complete, and Rodda Construction has provided the attached construction Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the turf conversion of five fields in the amount of $5,813,279.00. In accordance with Resolution 13-066, $250,000.00 is included in the GMP total for allowance work.
The total contract time for the construction of Phase I is 300 calendar days. Allowance time for this project is 45 days.
Phase II pre-construction services, to include the turf conversion of the remaining seven fields will be brought back to the Board as an amendment to this agreement once funding has been identified.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the CMAR GMP Addendum with Rodda Construction, Inc. Simmers Young Park (Phase I) in the amount of $5,813,279.00.
