DESCRIPTION
In December 2010, the Board of County Commissioners approved Ordinance 10-081, that in part, outlined a methodology for updating the technical requirements of the Polk County Utility Code (Reference Manuals). The update process includes notification to stakeholders, the conducting of an informal stakeholder workshop, and the posting/publishing of final recommendations prior to and after Division Director approval. This exact methodology was used to develop the calendar year 2024 Utility Code updates and is presented by way of a formal adoption resolution (attached). The 2024 Utility Code updates approved by the Utilities Director include revisions to the Utilities Standards and Specifications Manual (USSM) and other Policy Manuals:
• Administration Manual
• Water Conservation Manual
• Reclaimed Water Policy Manual
• USSM Chapter 2, Development Coordination
• USSM Chapter 3, General Requirements: Specifications, and Detail Drawings
• USSM Chapter 4, Potable Water: Specifications, and Detail Drawings
• USSM Chapter 5, Wastewater: Specifications, and Detail Drawings
• USSM Chapter 6, Reclaimed Water: Specifications
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board adopt the attached Resolution approving the 2024 Polk County Utility Code updates.
