DESCRIPTION
The Fleet Management division requested Procurement to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide standardized freightliner vehicle acquisitions and services for vehicle classes 6-8. Vehicle classes 6-8 include medium to heavy-duty trucks which require a commercial driver's license to operate. The services include vehicle purchase, design assistance, parts, service, on-line technical access and technical training for Fleet staff. The county purchases between 20 to 25 of these vehicles a year depending upon the vehicle replacement schedule and any approved additional vehicles needed for divisions operational demands.
Request for Proposal (RFP) 26-209, Freightliner Vehicle Acquisitions and Services for Classes 6-8 was issued, and one vendor submitted a proposal. The selection committee met on June 22, 2026, to evaluate and score the proposal. The proposer was elevated to interviews. On July 8, 2026, the selection committee conducted an interview. After the interview, the consensus of the selection committee was to request that the Board authorize staff to enter into contract negotiations with the Proposer, Polk Freightliner.
