Approve the 2024-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the Polk County Board of County Commissioners (Polk County) and the International Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics (IAEP) Local R5-917 SEIU/NAGE.

DESCRIPTION
The 2024-2025 CBA results from successful negotiations between Polk County and the IAEP on October 11, 2024. It includes an adjustment of 0.5% to each step of the 13-step pay plan for a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) and a one-step increase for all eligible bargaining unit employees. These changes will be retroactive to the October 28, 2024 pay period.
All bargaining unit members are eligible for the above-identified pay increases except in those cases where:
• The 0.5% pay increase places the employee above the maximum for their pay grade (Employees at the maximum pay for their pay grade will receive a one- time lump sum payment of 0.5%);
• The employee is on a Performance Improvement Probation;
• The employee is in a “non-paid” status due to receiving workers’ compensation or
• The employee is on a “non-paid” leave of absence.
The compensation plan will be in effect for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The Agreement shall be effective upon ratification by both parties until 12 o’clock midnight on September 30, 2025.

Recommend approval of the 2024-2025 CBA between Polk County and the IAEP Local R5-917
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available for the COLA pay and step increases in the General Fund and the Emergency Medical Millage Fund.
