DESCRIPTION
This is an applicant-initiated requested text amendment amending Ordinance No. 00-09, as amended, the Polk County Land Development Code, amending Appendix E adding for an activity center plan, related to a Small Scale Comprehensive Plan map amendment (LDCPAS-2025-24) from Residential Low (RL) to Community Activity Center-X (CAC). State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on June 3, 2026, with a recommendation for approval by a 7:0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.
