DESCRIPTION
This is a County-initiated request for an LDC Text Amendment to Section 221, Principal Uses and Buildings, to add standards for Flex Space and Retail Plazas; and to Chapter 10 to add definitions. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on March 4, 2026, with a recommendation for approval by a 7:0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the second of the two hearings.
