Appoint Edward Howell as a member of the Lakes Access Advisory Committee, for the  three-year term, November 17, 2022 through November 16, 2025.

DESCRIPTION

Purpose of Layboard: To study how to increase public access to the lakes within Polk County, and report findings and recommendations back to the Board.

Creating Authority: Resolution No. 09-217 adopted November 17, 2009, creating the Polk County Lakes Access Advisory Committee as a standing committee; providing for staggered membership terms; repealing Polk County Resolution No. 08-057 adopted May 7, 2008; and providing for operation of the committee.

Appointments: The Committee shall consist of 10 members appointed by the Polk County Board of County Commissioners as follows: each Commissioner of the Board shall appoint two members to the Committee.

Term: Members appointed to the Committee shall serve a term of three years. Reappointment for one additional term is permitted (Resolution 16.07-023). In the event of a vacancy of any member during a term of office, the Commissioner for the District assigned to make the appointment for that member’s position shall appoint a successor member, subject to approval of the Board, to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term.  Members shall serve at the pleasure of the Board and may be removed without cause at any time.

Reason for appointment: Expiration of term of previous member, Greg Watts.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Appoint Edward Howell as a member of the Lakes Access Advisory Committee, for the three-year term, November 17, 2022 through November 16, 2025.
