DESCRIPTION

On July 11, 2023, the Board approved a Land (4-acres +/-) Purchase Agreement between the Lakeland Regional Health Systems, Inc. for a new replacement Fire Rescue Station to be located at 2421 Smith Lane, Bartow, Florida.

On February 3, 2025, the City of Bartow approved a contract for the County to construct and maintain a Joint Use Fire Rescue Station between the City of Bartow and Polk County to be located at 2421 Smith Lane, Bartow, Florida.

 

RECOMMENDATION

The Board approve a contract to construct and maintain a Joint Use Fire Rescue Station between the City of Bartow and Polk County.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds for the Highland/Smith Lane Fire Rescue station are budgeted in the General Capital Fund for a total amount of $5,300,000.  After completion of the architectural and engineering design, construction documents and bidding, the remaining funds to complete the Highland/Smith Lane Fire Rescue station will be addressed during the FY25/26, CIP budget process.
