DESCRIPTION
This is this first reading of a County-initiated request to amend Chapter 6, Section 641, Airport Impact District (AID), to include standards for permit and notice requirements under the Polk County Airport Zoning Regulations and Joint Airport Zoning Board (JAZB); include airport height zones and amend airport names. State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on August 5, 2026, with a recommendation for approval by a 7:0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.
