Approve Land Purchase Agreement between Ann Duer and Polk County for the purchase of conservation preservation properties. ($3,000 one-time expense)

DESCRIPTION
The owner of a parcel of land in the northern part of the county, Ann Duer, contacted County staff to inquire if the County had any interest in purchasing the property. The property identified as Parcel ID Number 262605-000000-014060 is a rectangular-shaped vacant parcel containing approximately 1.36 acres. County staff reviewed the parcel and determined that the property is located within a state designated conservation area known as the Green Swamp Florida Forever - Boart of Trustees Project Area. Acquiring the parcel would complement other conservation properties owned by the County in the area and allow the property to be utilized for conservation preservation. Negotiations with the owner have resulted in a proposed price of $3,000 for the purchase of the property and the owner has executed a Land Purchase Agreement. Approving the Land Purchase Agreement will allow the County to purchase and take ownership of the subject property for use as conservation preservation.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve the aforementioned Land Purchase Agreement and authorize the issuance of funds in the amount of $3,000 for the purchase.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the amount of $3,000 for the purchase in the Environmental Land Acquisition Fund.
