Accept Quit Claim Deed for property being donated for conservation preservation, Thomas Pcl. (No fiscal impact)

DESCRIPTION
The County’s Land Donation Program allows property owners to donate property to the County for which there is a need or use by the County. A representative for the owner of a certain parcel of land within Polk County contacted county staff and offered to donate the property to the County. The property, identified as Parcel ID Number 252534-000000-014200, is a vacant parcel located in the northern part of the County. The County’s staff reviewed the parcel and determined that there is a use for the property as it is located within, or adjacent to, a recognized State Conservation area knowns as the Green Swamp Florida Forever Board of Trustees Project Area. The subject property is a nearly rectangular shaped parcel containing approximately 1.28 acres with very little market value and limited or no access.
Aleykutty Kay Thomas, acquired the property in 1986 and her power of attorney has executed and delivered on her behalf a Quit Claim Deed to the County for the property. Accepting the Quit Claim Deed will allow the County to take ownership of the property being donated to be utilized for conservation purposes.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board accept the aforementioned Quit Claim Deed.
