DESCRIPTION
The Board entered into Agreement #15-09 with Motorola on November 5, 2019. The agreement provides for the purchase of various Motorola equipment and services using discounted pricing and hourly rates. On July 11, 2023, the Board ratified the process for purchases made off of Agreement #15-09 as follows:
• Purchases equal to or less than $250,000 will require approval by the County Manager or their designee.
• Any purchases over $250,000 will require Board approval.
Motorola equipment for the Polk County Public Safety Radio System is required:
The FY23-24 approved Emergency Management budget includes purchase of Motorola DiagnostX hardware for $644,793.85. This hardware will be installed at all twelve radio system tower sites to monitor and evaluate every radio on the system to identify both problem radios and properly functioning radios. Problem radios are proactively serviced ensuring public safety personnel have properly functioning radios while answering calls for service.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve purchase of Motorola Diagnostx equipment for the Public Radio System.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the FY23-24 Emergency Management budget.
