DESCRIPTION
Polk County Utilities (PCU) is requesting approval of a sole source agreement with Hach Company to provide Hach brand products, OEM replacement parts, and associated services for the County's water production and wastewater treatment facilities. Services include routine maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and replacement parts for Hach analyzers used to monitor water quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, hardness, and chlorine.
Maintaining this equipment is necessary to support reliable water quality monitoring and compliance with applicable state and federal regulatory requirements. Hach Company provides authorized service and OEM replacement parts for its equipment.
The sole source agreement will be for a three-year period upon execution by the County.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board approve sole source agreement with Hach Company to provide field monitoring solutions, instrumentation, maintenance, repair services, and technical support for the water production and wastewater treatment facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available within the Utilities Operating fund. ($180,000 estimated annual expense)
