DESCRIPTION
Polk County Board of County Commissioners, a political subdivision of the State of Florida hereinafter referred to as “County” has been awarded a Grant through the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) entitled “BJA FY 23 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.” The approved award amount is $113,803. With the grant award, PCFR will purchase 109 additional ballistic vests. By accepting the grant, the County agrees to comply with any special conditions outlined in the grant. Failure to comply could result in the termination of the award and/or a requirement to repay award funds. By signing the “Certifications and Assurances by the Chief Executive of Applicant Government” the County remains in compliance of the grant. A transfer from reserves from the Special Revenue Grant Fund Reserve for Contingency is necessary to establish a budget for this Grant.
RECOMMENDATION
Requesting the Board’s approval of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) and sign the Certifications and Assurances by the Chief Executive of the Applicant Government form and approve a transfer from the Special Revenue Grant Fund Reserve for Contingency.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available to be transferred from Special Revenue Grant Fund Reserve for Contingencies in the amount of $113,803.
