DESCRIPTION

The County recently contracted with Alfred Benesch & Company to prepare a technical Warehouse Trip Characteristics Study to evaluate demand associated with warehouse and industrial land uses and local variables on transportation impacts unique to Polk County.  As a result of such study, the consultant has recommended modifying the Transportation Impact Fee rates for certain land use categories, as currently set forth in the County’s Impact Fee Ordinance (Ord. 2024-062).  The recommendations, along with the results of the study, have been presented to the Board of County Commissioners at a work session held on January 3, 2025.  A public hearing is necessary to adopt such study and consider an amended and restated comprehensive ordinance imposing updated rates for certain Transportation Impact Fees.
