DESCRIPTION
This is this first reading of an applicant-initiated request for an LDC text amendment to add the use “Vehicle Service, Mechanical” as a conditional use in Regional Activity Center (RACX) land use districts within Table 4.8, Use Table for the U.S. 27 Selected Area Plan (SAP). State law requires one Planning Commission hearing, which was held on July 8, 2026, with a recommendation for approval by a 7:0 vote.
Section 163.3202, Florida Statutes (F.S.) requires the Board to adopt Land Development Code (LDC) regulations consistent with the implementation of the Polk County Comprehensive Plan. Amendments to the LDC require two public hearings before the Board to be adopted. This is the first of the two hearings.
