DESCRIPTION
Guaranteed Maximum Price 6 (GMP-6) includes Construction Package 2C of the Southeast Wellfield Transmission Main (SETM), which was approved by the Board on January 28, 2026. Due to easement acquisition on Parcel 3011, Work Change Directive No. 003, dated July 21, 2026, redirected approximately 1,054 linear feet of 30” ductile iron pipe (DIP) open-cut installation to a horizontal directional drill (HDD) consisting of 30” DR11 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe to avoid conflicts with proposed development utilities. Since GMP-6 bid time, the cost of HDPE pipe has increased, adding to the cost impact of this directive. Florida Water Partners (CMAR) submitted GMP-6 Package 2C Contingency Request (CR) No. 02 on August 21, 2026, requesting the release of $222,568.14 from the CMAR’s Construction Contingency to cover the costs of the Parcel 3011 open-cut-to-HDD conversion and associated HDPE material cost escalation, consistent with Work Change Directive No. 003.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Contingency Request No. 02 to Southeast Wellfield GMP-6, Construction Package 2C, for Costs Associated with the Change from Open-Cut to Horizontal Directional Drill on Parcel 3011 (Action)
FISCAL IMPACT
No increase to the GMP-6 Contract Amount. This request draws $222,568.14 from the CMAR’s Construction Contingency.
