DESCRIPTION
On December 15, 2023, representatives and consultants of the CRA presented to the Board a proposed CRA Plan amendment that expands the CRA boundaries. The expansion would include 2,465 acres of mostly undeveloped property at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Thompson Nursery Road. The proposed resolution initiates the conflict resolution procedures under the Florida Governmental Conflict Resolution Act and gives notice of competing policy goals and plans for the funds the County would be required to deposit to the CRA trust fund.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution Initiating the Conflict Resolution Procedures under the Florida Governmental Conflict Resolution Act and Giving Notice of Competing Policy Goals and Plans for CRA Funds to the Lake Wales Community Redevelopment Agency and the City of Lake Wales for the CRA Plan amendment expanding the boundaries of the CRA.
Authorize the County Attorney and County Manager to take the necessary actions to carry out the requirements and intent of the proposed resolution.
