DESCRIPTION
Currently Polk County is experiencing dry weather conditions over an extensive period of time resulting in over 50% of Polk County averaging over 500 on the Keetch-Byram Drought Index. Pursuant to Polk County Ordinance No. 2008-015, as amended, (“Ordinance”), on November 25, 2025, the Polk County Fire Chief adopted Declaration of Fire Department Burn Ban 25-02. Pursuant to the Ordinance, the Board of County Commissioners must adopt a resolution approving the Fire Department Burn Ban at its next regular meeting.
