DESCRIPTION

Polk County has entered into an agreement with Cynet Health to provide job candidate sourcing, recruitment, screening, and placement services for not-for-profit Community Mental Health Agencies (CMHA) who partner with Polk County to increase the amount of funding presently spent on opioid and substance abuse education, treatment, prevention and other related programs and services to ensure that funds are expended in compliance with evolving evidence-based clinical and community best practices.

To further assist in these efforts, the County is making available additional funding to CMHAs for incentives to offer recruited candidates in the following roles:

                     Physicians / Psychiatrists

                     Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants, Doctor of Philosophy

                     Licensed Clinical Social Worker

                     Master’s Level Therapists

                     Registered Nurses

                     Bachelor’s/Entry Level

                     License Practical Nurse

                     Support Staff & Behavioral Health Techs

                     Certified Peer Specialists

Types of incentives offered:

                     Signing/Hiring Bonus

                     Retention bonus

                     Loan Repayment/Annual Tuition Assistance

All the incentives are payable in installments based on stated employment milestones.

The agreement is effective upon execution through September 30, 2030, with the option to extend for up to two additional one-year terms.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Approve the agreement with Lakeland Regional Health for recruiting incentives.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funds are available in the Opioid Settlement Fund.
