DESCRIPTION
Many of the roads in the State of Florida and within Polk County were constructed years ago with narrow or non-existent rights-of-way. To correct this situation, Florida Statutes allow the State, County, or Municipality to file a map as prima facie evidence of ownership of the road with the Clerk of Circuit Court in the County in which the road lies. The State, County, or Municipality is required to certify that it has maintained the road continuously for a minimum of seven years.
Maintained right-of-way maps have been prepared for the following roads lying within Polk County:
1. Saratoga Avenue from its intersection with West 10th Street southward approximately 530 feet to its terminus. The right-of-way is located in Section 11, Township 28 South, Range 23 East.
2. Norman Lane from its intersection with US Highway 92 W southward approximately 1,200 feet to its terminus. The right-of-way is located in Section 10, Township 28 South, Range 25 East.
3. Lantana Road from its intersection with County Road 630A (Fort Meade Road) southward then eastward approximately 940 feet to its intersection with Hopson Road. The right-of-way is located in Section 6, Township 32 South, Range 28 East.
4. Garrard Road from its intersection with Lake Buffum Road North primarily southward approximately 4,900 feet to West Canal Road/East Canal Road. The right-of-way is located in Sections 1 and 12, Township 31 South, Range 26 East.
5. Mud Lake Road from its intersection with 80 Foot Road westward approximately 3,800 feet to Ledley Wear Road. The right-of-way is located in Sections 24 and 25, Township 30 South, Range 25 East.
6. J. Stenger Road from its intersection with 80 Foot Road westward approximately 5,250 feet to its intersection with Ledley Wear Road. The right-of-way is l...
