DESCRIPTION

Senior First, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation (hereinafter “Seniors First”) administers State General Revenue grants for Community Care for the Elderly, Home Care for the Elderly, and the Alzheimer’s Disease initiative in Polk County. Seniors First currently leases office space within the Frank B. Smith Human Services Building located at 1290 Golfview Avenue, Bartow, Florida 33830 to facilitate the administration of the programs associated with the grants.  The County and Seniors First previously entered into a lease agreement for a three-year term commencing January 1, 2021 which allows for the option of three 1 year renewals terms.  Seniors First has requested to exercise its first one-year renewal term option and has executed and delivered a First Amendment to Lease No. 321 to extend the term of the lease through December 31, 2024, with all other terms and conditions of the original lease remaining the same.  Approving the aforementioned First Amendment will allow Seniors First to continue to utilize the office space to provide its program services to Polk County’s elderly population.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve the aforementioned First Amendment to Lease No. 321.
