DESCRIPTION
The County entered into an agreement with RK&K on May 3, 2022, to provide professional engineering services for the Creekwater Drive Drainage Improvement Project, which included a preliminary model analysis that determined Ewell Road as the choke point in the system for a not-to-exceed fee of $179,134.99.
On February 21, 2023, Amendment #1 in the amount of $46,768.31 was approved by the Board to allow RK&K to prepare an alternatives analysis to include the cross drain under Ewell Road and the selection of a preferred alternative for construction, bringing the total project to a not-to-exceed cost of $225,903.30.
The analysis identified two alternatives and Roads and Drainage recommended the 2nd alternative which includes replacing the existing cross drain under the driveway at 6114 Creekwater Drive and the existing cross drain under Ewell Road with new double 4’x5’ concrete box culverts.
This Amendment #2 provides for the structural analysis and design of this alternative at a not-to-exceed cost of $22,723.95. This will bring the total project to a not-to-exceed cost of $248,627.25.
This project is fully funded through the American Rescue Plan through the United States Department of Treasury.
RECOMMENDATION
Request the Board approve Amendment #2 with RK&K in regard to Agreement 2022-031, Creekwater Drive Drainage Improvements Project at a cost not-to-exceed $22,723.95.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available in the American Rescue Plan Funds.
