DESCRIPTION

For over 30 years the United States of America (“USA”) has leased from Polk County office space in the John Hunt Building located at 1700 Highway 17 South, in Bartow, Florida for its USDA program. The current lease, which was last amended in August 2020, includes 3,448 square feet of rentable office space through a term ending July 31, 2023. The USA has requested the continued use of the premises for its USDA program and has proposed Lease Amendment Number 8 to extend the lease for a term of five years ending July 31, 2028, with all other terms and conditions remaining the same. Approving the aforementioned Lease Amendment will allow the USA to continue to occupy the County office space to provide USDA services for the citizens of Polk County and surrounding areas.

RECOMMENDATION

FISCAL IMPACT
