DESCRIPTION
The County received a petition from Diana Jackson to vacate a portion of platted, unopened, and unmaintained right-of-way (alley) lying east of Lots 8 and 9 and west of Lots 2 and 3, of Block 11, as shown on Ransone's Addition to Bradley Jc., recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 81, Public Records of Polk County, Florida. The subject right-of-way lies in Section 11, Township 31 South, Range 23 East.
Ransone's Addition to Bradley Jc., filed in 1911, depicts various rights-of-way and alleys throughout the plat which are presumed to be public. The petitioner requested the vacation of the right-of-way (alley) lying adjacent to the east of her property to assemble a portion thereof with her current property as part of a multi-step process to garner buildable access and resolve an ongoing code enforcement action. During a review of the area, it was discovered that vacating the requested area would leave an isolated segment of platted right-of-way to the south, so the County is adding the remainder of the platted right-of-way (alley) lying within Block 11 being east of Lots 6 and 7 and west of Lots 4 and 5 to the vacation request. County staff contacted the adjacent property owners and received no objections. Vacating the right-of-way will remove the public's interest in the subject area and allow the petitioner, and adjacent property owners, within the subject platted Block to utilize their respective properties more fully due to the assemblage.

Florida Gas Transmission Company and Tampa Electric Company have no objections to the proposed vacation.

The Roads and Drainage Division, Office of Planning and Development, and Utilities Division have no objections to the proposed vacation.
