Adopt a Resolution Setting Parking Restrictions on Connie Lee Court, Larry Road, Leitha Way, Lindale Street and Victor Road, near Lakeland ($2,322.10 one-time expense)

DESCRIPTION
The Roads & Drainage Division has received several requests to restrict parking on Connie Lee Court and Leitha Way. These roads are in the Lakeland area in S-13, T-27S, R-23E, and are classified as Local Residential roads.
Staff conducted parking studies in the area to analyze this request and determined that parents of Lake Gibson High School students are parking along Connie Lee Court, Larry Road, Leitha Way, Lindale Street and Victor Road, creating navigability issues for the residents of these roads.
Pursuant to FS 316.008, the Board of County Commissioners is vested with the authority to set parking restrictions on County roadways. Additionally, the posting of the requested restrictions will promote public safety and assist the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in their enforcement efforts.
To comply with statutory requirements, it is necessary for the Board to adopt a Resolution establishing the parking restrictions.
RECOMMENDATION
Request Board adopt the associated Resolution to establish parking restrictions for Connie Lee Court, Larry Road, Leitha Way, Lindale Street and Victor Road. Estimated cost for installation of the signs is $2,322.10.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted in the FY 23/24 Transportation Millage Fund.
