DESCRIPTION
The first week of October every year the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) receives applications for new and continued funding through their Cooperative Funding Initiative for the subsequent fiscal year. In October 2021, the PRWC submitted a FY 2023 Cooperative Funding application for the West Polk Test Production Well #2 project, which was approved by SWFWMD as Project Q309. The estimated project total is $4,125,000, with 50%, or $2,062,500 being funded by SWFWMD. Applications for continued annual funding need to be made each year with $1,227,500 requested for FY 2023. This item requests approval to submit a cooperative funding application for FY 2024 for the Q309 project to fund the remaining share of the District for the project, approximately $835,000. The cost allocation by fiscal year may change based on schedule and will be finalized through discussion with SWFWMD during the funding request process.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the submission of the SWFWMD Cooperative Funding Application for West Polk Test Production Well #2 for FY 2024.
