DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Management Division requested Procurement to solicit bids from qualified contractors who were interested in installing eighteen auxiliary generator that were purchased utilizing FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding.

Bid 23-303, Construction and Installation of Eighteen FRS/EMS Auxiliary Stations Generators was issued, and three contractors submitted bids.

A recommendation of award was issued to Engineered Electric Services, LLC. and no protests were received. In accordance with Resolution No. 13-066, 5% was added for allowance work in the amount of $29,497.00 and is included in the proposed contract award totaling $619,442.71. The contract time for this project is 252 days for final completion. Allowance time for the project is 38 days.

 

Facilities broke down the purchase into two parts 1) to expedite the purchase of generators due to long lead times and grant expiration timing and 2) solicit a bid to hire a contractor to prepare the site and install the generators prior to the expected delivery date of the generators.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Request Board approve construction contract with Engineered Electric Services, LLC of Florida for $619,442.71.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

Funding in the amount of $619,442.71 is budged within the Hazardous Mitigation Grant Fund for this project.
