Approve the contract with Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Inc. (LRMC) for the proposed renovations to expand clinical space at their Morrell Internal Medicine (MIM) clinic in Lakeland. (Total amount not to exceed $1,500,000)

DESCRIPTION
In response to a Request for Applications through Indigent Health Care, LRMC submitted a request for partial funding of construction expenses for the renovation of the MIM.
LRMC provides primary care services at their family medicine residency clinic located across from the hospital in Lakeland. LRMC is contracted with the County to provide services to low-income Polk County residents including Polk HealthCare Plan members. Currently, MIM has 14 exam rooms. The renovations will increase the number of exam rooms to 30, add 3 nurse stations, add a dedicated phlebotomy room, add a financial counselor office, improve staffing rooms and overall function of the building.
This contract will be effective October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024. This funding request was presented to and approved by the Citizens HealthCare Oversight Committee (COC).
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the contract with LRMC for the partial funding of the construction expenses to renovate MIM facility in Lakeland.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Indigent Health Care Fund.
